How Party Sparklers Are So Awesome?

Party sparkles are the soul and spirit of any kind of happy gathering. Birthdays, promotions, even in some kind of weddings.

What Is A Party Sparkle?
A type of hand held firework which emits coloured flames and sparks while burning slowly. In UK, a sparkle is often used in children bonfire and firework display on “Guy Fawkes Night”
Party Sparklers are present in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Some of them have a long cylindrical shape, ready to pop, while custom made heart designs are sure to impress your love on Valentine’s Day. Party sparklers the life of a birthday, a bachelor night, bar mitzvah or a Diwali. Fuse wires depend on the size of a party sparkle. 8’’, 10’’, 16’’ and even 18’’ gold wires can be used in birthday party sparklers and inside the famous “sparkler candles”

Design
About 20cm stiff metal wire is dipped inside the slow burning pyrotechnic composition. The mixture is allowed to dry. Different metallic fuels are added to give the required flame colour for example, Aluminium and Magnesium produce white sparks, while Titanium is known to give off ultra-white sparks. Iron can be used inside the sparkle to produce orange sparks.

A combustible blender, such as Dextrin or Nitrocellulose holds the composition together. To modify the burning speed, Sulphur, charcoal and an oxidiser is used. When the metal fuel starts burning, oxidisers decompose, producing oxygen and other gases. The purpose of oxidisers is to ensure that the sparkle undergoes its effect and not end up looking like mere burning metal. Most commonly used oxidisers include metallic nitrates, chlorates and perchlorates.

Creating A Sparkler
You can create your own sparkle too. Unlike fireworks, the task is pretty straightforward. Just have the ingredients ready and Google how to make a sparkler…But wait…Don’t do that yourself. Sparkler bombs are known to be constructed by as many as 300 sparklers bundled together. The holistic mixture burns almost at 1000 degree Celsius. Depending on the nature of fuel and used oxidiser, they are a potential cause of skin burns. A risk of burning clothes is also present. Adult supervision is recommended at all costs.

Alternatively, we can tell you how a commercial party sparkler is prepared. A machine is given the task to cut the wires of desired lengths – The fuse wires are of different lengths of different sparklers.
The wires are moved along by the machine and placed in a position where the mixture of above mentioned chemical compounds is applied onto the wires. Dipped from one end, the mixture is allowed to set for a moment. After that, the wires are dipped for the second time to ensure appropriate amount of paste is strong enough to produce a lasting impact.

The sparklers are allowed to take time and dry. Sometimes the drying process can take up to a week to ensure a good quality. They are then packed off and sent to retailers. Shopkeepers buy them in wholesale quantities and from shopkeepers, customers buy the final product.
